Costas Halavrezos retired from CBC Radio in 2010, after a 32-year career which saw him host local, regional and national shows.

Within a few months, he launched a new career as a spice merchant, selling his wares at the Halifax Brewery Market, and sending customers a weekly newsletter containing a brief personal essay & recipes highlighting spices. Nimbus published a selection in a hardcover edition entitled “Seasoned”. Costas wound up his retail business at the end of 2016, but still acts as the Maritime representative for Spicetrekkers’ products.

Costas now works as a voiceover artist, serves as a moderator or MC at numerous community events, volunteers, and plays bass with the BBQ Kings (a rootsy dance band).
